AmeriHealth Administrators Successfully Completes SAS 70 Type II Audit
Rigorous audit by independent audit firm of AmeriHealth Administrators' information technology and business process controls results in an unqualified opinion; company attributes its strong performance to a focus on technology.

AmeriHealth Administrators, a leading national third party administrator (TPA), has successfully completed a SAS 70 Type II audit, which has resulted in an unqualified opinion. Conducted in accordance with the Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70, the SAS 70 Type II assesses the design and tests the operating effectiveness of information technology and business process controls for claims processing. The audit was completed in December 2005 by an international CPA firm.
SAS 70, the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70, is an internationally recognized standard developed by the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) to assess the design and effectiveness of a company's internal control procedures related to the processing of transactions for user organizations. The SAS 70 Type II audit is conducted by an independent accounting and auditing firm. An organization that completes this type of audit can provide its clients with a comprehensive and objective auditor's report describing certain key internal controls in place and whether those controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively for the period under review.
